Exhaust Manifold #s
« on: December 22, 2013, 10:06:11 PM »
I just bought the HB coded motor/tranny that was on TC site.need correct answer please. What are the correct exhaust manifold #s for a 1969 SS 350 X 55, TH 350 with Factory A/C ? Thanks in advance. Yes I am a newbie to the site. yes ,I have owned my 1969 SS 350 X 55 since June of 1978. SIS (Self Inflicted Stupidity), I changed the color of the car, bought NOS GM RS sheet metal,Cowl Induction setup, Z/28 emblems,Angle Plug Heads. I am living proof that a little stupidity will go a long way.now I am on the path to a #s correct restoration of my 2 nd owner  1969 SS 350 X 55 highly optioned Camaro. Will be posting a lot in the next few years as I get this project underway. This is a huge source of knowledge along with the Team Camaro.site. So back to original question. What are the correct exhaust manifolds for this car ?

To add a question about these manifolds if I could. I know all the 4 spd small block cars in 69 came with smog. Did any of the small block, automatic SS 300 hp 350's ever come from the factory with smog that model year?

Thanks to all who replied to my question. This site is so awesome along with Team Camaro. If I had not looked at these sites 2 months ago my mailman would now be the 3rd owner of an original 69 SS X 55. Car has been parked since 86 and needs a lot of TLC and liquidating my redneck 401K (stamp collection ,militaria collection, old Suburban lawn mowers ,and some other items I won't mention. Thanks to SIS I have a long way to go.

R H side real clear 3958562, LH 394245 ? can't make it out ,wire brush and reverse trace with paper and pencil ,just not enough left due to rust. No complaint about cost or what I paid for . Exhaust manifolds not for My Camaro, bought as donor for parts. Brackets, small stuff that I need for my project.

Never checked the numbers. They look like the correct ones even the shallow offset by the steering box. I thought the manifolds were put on at the engine plant. Just trying to learn something here. Even though it was a Chevelle it still a HB. So why would these numbers be different anybody?

That's correct - they were installed at the engine plants.

Since it is Xmas and you have had your SS since 1978 it is your lucky day. I have a pair of  3932376 (RH) and 3942529 (LH) manifolds in good shape that I will media blast and ship you for the cost of the shipping.

Really weird ,googled the RH 3958562 #, most hits came up on a site called Fast Lane, mentioned this # a lot, says  it is for a 73-74 350 ,named a bunch of car names I never heard of,they are GM cars but all of the posters on the site are in Austallia and New Zealand? Really wondering WTF I have .Also mentions the LH part # that partially matches the partial # that I can get off of the LH exh. Manifold. Looks like this is a question for the site gurus?

Just send me a pm with your address and when I get them shipped I will let you know the actual cost. I'm putting new media in my blast cabinet and will post a couple pics when they are clean. They came off a 69 Camaro I made into a go fast car.

Thanks john, that's what I thought. And if all the HB coded engines were the same are these numbers possibly a lesser used casting? Butch, check the dates on the back when you take them off. They look just like the other numbers. I guess they could have been changed if they cracked or something. But both? And they still have the French locks.
