My Original 08C am antenna mast does not have a grove. Maybe it was a vendor change mid year?

Mine's original too (02D car) and doesn't have the tip groove.

Can we assume different vendors then? This would make identifying who manufactured it if there was an issue wouldn't it?

Because of your questions on the Camaro AM antennas, I pulled my parts out yesterday and took some photos:
antenna mast tip, antenna mast lower end with other parts,  mount and retainer from lower side with PNs, antenna connector showing 'chevy bowtie script'.  I could not find a PN on the mast itself, nor on the cable connector, but mine had an A-1 on the side opposite the bowtie emblem.  PN on the base (which fits against the fender) is:   3937665.   The pn on the lock wasn't entirely legible, but might have been 3943655.

and shown below is the assembled view.   The 'collapsed length' of my antenna is 18" from tip to the top of the retainer nut.

My original AM mast from my 04L Norwood built car has a groove in the top ferrule.

The mast I bought has the same plain tip as in Gary's first pic.

Hi Austin,  well.. it's not MY resizing skills, it's done by the Light Image Resizer software, recommended on this site by JohnZ many months ago, and which I tried and liked, and ultimately purchased.   It's quick and easy and does retain outstanding detail in very small file sizes.   After taking my higher resolution image, I first run it thru Paint to clip out the portion I want to post, then use the Light Image Resizer on the clipped portion.   You can repeat the process with lower detail until the file size fits the CRG requirement.   I think the images I posted this morning were 100kb or less each...   Try it.. you'll love it too! and we'll get to see more photos of your car too! :)  you can download and use it for free, but after several uses, it gets *slower* unless you purchase it.. :)    For $20-30 it's great.

And thanking JohnZ again for recommending it previously!  :)
