Template for 69 Deluxe door emblem?
« on: February 06, 2013, 09:57:18 PM »
Hi,
I'm gonna put the Camaro emblem on my new Deluxe door panel and there are no holes predrilled!
Does anybody have a template or measurements to work with here...?

Thanx in advance! ;)

Hakan,

Since no one has replied, I just went to my car and took the attached photo which should give you enough information to place your emblem.  I took the photo from as 'perpendicular' orientation as I could, so measurements should be ok directly from the photo if you have positions for the center of the window handle, and the forward part of the pull handle to use as reference points from your own door panel.

Thank you Gary, perfect photo!!
But you don't know if there is any kind of assembly description for drilling and mounting this emblem?

....also when i see your window crank I wonder which one is for the front and rear Deluxe interior?

My door panels have never been off (to my knowledge) and I do not know how the original panel factory mounted that emblem, but for your repro panels, surely the repro company sent you clips or glue or ??  some mechanism or instruction for how to mount the emblem/etc?

I sent you a photo of my drivers side front door panel and emblem (which also has remote mirror control on it).   I dont' think there is a camaro emblem on the rear side panel.  I don't see any noticeable differences in the front and rear window cranks.

PS.  have you looked on the backside of the repro door panels? Maybe there are markings, or depressions, showing where the panel should be pierced for the various items that mount to it??

Yepp, I've just mounted the emblem and there is no markings on backside of the panel other then a area that it should fit in, no markings for holes!
But I usel your pic as a direktion for how to pace it and I think it want well!
