Could this car be a z or an  ss. It has a 12 bolt rear end and multi-leaf springs (5).

Probably not a Z with 5 leaf springs... probably an SS... Sounds like a 69 BB
Give us more info.  Like what year is it?  Cowl tag?  Numbers off rear end?
