General Discussion / Re: 69 Copo taillights vertical trim

why is it that you say x11 cars have chrome trim option? this car is a copo clone. Were all x11 copo cars only Berger??? I come from the corvette world of the NCRS and want to make sure that everything i do is the way they left the factory. I plan on racing this car at the pure stock muscle car drag races and the F.A.S.T. races

The car is an x11 car with a 2d build date shows no sign of ever having the vertical  trim. The guys at the cruise tried to tell me mine were missing, so we went and looked at others, all of them were chrome trim cars. It looks like all of the repops have the vertical bars?

Car does not have the chrome appearance package (no side chrome or wheel lips etc) should it have the vertical chrome trim in the rear taillights? Standard interior car.

General Discussion / Re: 69 Copo front end too low

No idea why the guy put 235/60s on the front with the drop spindles . I have a set of 215/70/15 radials that I can put on the front until I go with the 14 steel wheels with the polyglas and dog dish. Anybody tried this combo ?

What is the original back space of the 14x7 steel wheels? 4 or 4.25???

I bought the car with 2 inch drop spindles and 235/60/15 front tires and unknown new springs, I assume they are small block springs. The front end is too low and the inside of the tires rubs on turns against the tie rod ends. Will 14x7 steel wheels and f70/14 polyglas tires fix the problem?I think I need either regular spindles or big block springs? Hopefully not both. Can somebody give me part numbers of the springs? Or recommendations on which way to go

General Discussion / 69 Copo with power steering issues

Fresh restoration that was started by the old owner. He put on 2 inch drop spindles, new pitman arm and power steering. The first pump leaked, so I used the tank for the big block and put it on the rebuilt pump that came with the car. I have bled the system with the wheels in the air, and still have no power steering, it makes a noise at full lock . The first pump acted the same except it made more noise. I have the pressure hose on the lower hole into the box, that is what it looks like in the assembly manual. Pump is 2.3 turns lock to lock and has box number 5691676.I will be taking it in for the initial front end alignment. Any ideas? Could this box be bad ? am  I missing something? Is it possible I have the hoses on backwards? I thought they used different size fittings?
