Thx guys. Appreciate the thoughts.. since compressor is the only thing with oil in it, should be easy to flush just to be sure, However FYI. Had a Z11 from 1999 to 2005. Refreshed engine trans rear etc and AC. It had R12 in system when I disassembled it. In spring of 2001 when finished took it to a local shop. Guy says nope no need to flush it if it’s been down for a year. He charged with 134. Sold the car in 2005 and would still freeze you out. Pretty sure didn’t even change O rings. I know…..

I know there are several replacement cylinders. I think the SS spoiler may be a bit heavier than the Z28 spoiler.
Hoping to hear back from another owner to learn if in fact once you pop the trunk, should it stay open?
Currently I have to open the latch with key fob while pulling trunk open at same time. If I push the release inside the car then walk back, the trunk will be locked again.
Also, this car has 12k miles, so would prefer original GM but if they can’t keep trunk open after pushing the button, then will prefer a stronger cylinder. Hope this makes some sense.

I am not having luck even getting into the 4 gen sites to ask this question. Hopefully someone knows the answer. I have 30 yr anniversary 97 SS convertible. Used to have a z28 with the Same issue.
When you pop the trunk, should the lift cylinders be strong enough to lift the trunk up and not immediately lock back. If so, mine are shot. Doesn’t appear that they are available from GM anymore.
Is there a replacement cylinder that is strong enough to get lid up after popping??

Was in a hurry when I wrote my question. Here is some clarification.
All components are new with no old refrigerant or oil….Except the compressor came with oil in it.
I bought it back in probably 2007 or so. I would assume that the oil in the compressor is for 134, but was asking if that is correct. Surely, even though factory replacement compressor, it would not have R12 oil in it?…

No tags left on springs.
Guess I’m trying to find the right aftermarket spring to get the correct ride height. There only seem to be bb or sb springs. Some say with ac. Hard to believe The bb with ac spring would be a perfect solution. Anyone here with a bb and ac that have purchased aftermarket spring that looks great? If so what company?
Also, do bb springs have more coils or just stiffer? If they have more coils what are the length of each?

Sure this has been asked and answered many times but can’t seem to locate what I need.
Would like to put in new front coil springs. Afraid that whatever I order will make the car look like a lift kit was installed. Has anyone with a similar car bought aftermarket springs that were the correct dimension and strength to give the correct height? According to the charts a 69 camaro 396 HA, HB and HG spring was the same part number. 181 lbs and up. Why give it different I D numbers?

Ok, finally found a reference. The pink wire is supposed to be stop idle solenoid. I gather an ac car should have this to increase idle when compressor is energized. Can anyone provide a pic of this installed on a car?

Not trying to be ungrateful, Do we want to just make an automated response for every question directing them to the AIM? Hope not, I would assume most people have tried searching before asking questions. That’s why I have only ever asked a handful.  I obviously see wiring is routed above the wiper, but was hoping for personal experiences. Under seems neater. I guess I was just asking where these connectors and wires actually live.
As for the large gauge pink wire, please show me in the AIM where it is. I must be simply missing it. Perhaps it’s for an option I have forgotten about.

Anyone have a picture of
1. Where to route the compartment wiring…above wiper motor or below.
2. How the kickdown wiring ties into the wiper motor
3. Finally where does the thick pink wire go with female connector

It is a flat connector. It is not the e brake wire. It plugs into one of the slots in the black box….I think. Like a jumper wire for some reason.

Trying to get engine back in camaro. I had AC fan and wipers not working. After a bit of investigating, it appears that the firewall harness was bad.
I replaced it and all is now good! However, In poking and probing inside the car I must have pulled a brown wire out of its home.
Was hoping someone has a harness they can look at and let me know where the brown wire in the attached picture should be plugged into.
If you can send a matching picture that would be great.
