General Discussion / Re: COPO for sale in CT.

Owners of 1969 - 1970 Mustangs have been putting the "Caution Fan" decal on the fan shroud, even though they were not used by the factory:

The decals were later put on by dealers when these Mustangs came in for service and on replacement shrouds when Ford realized there was a safety issue.

Back in the early 2000s, I saw a similar 1969 Z28 on the freeway while driving to San Diego.  The license plate was a CA blue plate "REALZ28."  The Z28 was in the right lane, going 55 mph, and I figured it must have had 4.56 gears.

You can get an idea of what gear ratio is best suited for your Camaro if you replace your present tires with low-profile wheels if you have some available.

Originality / Re: Late 1968 Z Rods?

My friend's 1968 Z28 had 302 badges, so according to CRG, it was build before March 1968:

Below is a previous CRG posting about Z28 connecting rods:

http://www.camaros.org/forum/index.php?topic=1824.0

1968 Camaro production ended in July 1968 and 1969 Camaro began in September 1968 (CRG data).  As for 1968 Z28 connecting rods, I helped my friend rebuild the engine in 1973 and the rods had pressed-in pins.

Restoration / Re: 68 Camaro Restoration Plan - Bodywork costs.

When the tooling was being set-up at the Van Nuys Assembly Plant, they would bring in a surface plate to assure that the completed body met specifications:

I would recommend that a jig should be used when replacing structural sheet metal, especially when it is a convertible.

If you read the details of the WIX 51069 oil filter on the O'Reilly website, it states that the filter has a silcone anti drain back valve.  The WIX 51060 according to O'Reilly does not fit a 1969 Camaro with a six cylinder engine:
