Hey guys.

I just purchaced  25,000 mile two owner Z28 a few weeks ago.  The second owner managed to slowly pull it apart over the last 35 years to make it a
"world of wheels car".     I stripped the firewall of its gloss IMRON paint last week and found 3 places where the original crayon marks were.
I'm not sure if the original marks were under the black firewall paint or on the top but they are noticeable on the bare firewall now.   One directly behind the distributor says " OK" .    to the right of that  ( passenger side ) it has   " N10 "  and i found out thats dual exhaust.    and a little farther to the right is  " D80".
   Spoilers..      Pretty cool .     Steve

The markings were made on the uncoated firewall at Fisher Body; the grease pencil stained the metal. The markings were sometimes visible later on beacuse the firewall blackout paint didn't always adhere over the markings. We media-stripped our '67 Z/28; there was grafitti from one side to the other.

Norwood Camaros also had markings on the upper bulkhead behind the rear seat backrest. They would be in the upper LH corner. It's usually a truncated X code; a Z/28 would be X3 or X7.

I have a Norwood 11C car that predates the x codes on the trim tag, but from what I have read that the crayon marks that you describe should be there. Are they visible from the trunk or do you have to remove the rear seat back to see them?

If any marks are there you will have to remove the seat back to see it.

I found "LG-7" on my passenger side rear bulkhead. The interior paint parts would need to be "light green" (officiallly medium green) on this car. That is a rare interior color so the unusual bulkhead marking might have been a heads up to the Fisher interior paint guy but as far as I know this has never been confirmed or investigated. Other examples in other colors have been observed. They were not all "X" markings on the bulkhead.

I also found "RGRN" on the engine firewall. That would match up with the "Rally Green" body paint.

I have an 11D Z/28 and my bulkhead reads DG3. I have a dark green interior and an X33 car.

I think you solved the mystery caryon marks on my rear bulkhead. I have a dark green interior X33car 02A car and we thought the mark was an O but must be a D, the G is covered with adhesive but is kind of legible we thought was a 6 but must be a G. The 3 is very legible.............so DG3 makes sense.
Thanks for the post
Cheers

Mine was a 10A Norwood car.

My 07A Norwood car had DG X5 which indicates Dark Green and X55 which it is.
