How far was a flywheel date off the engine build date?  The motor is a 67 mid may l78.   Thanks. Jeff

The casting date on the flywheel should be at least a few days prior to the stamped assembly date on the block pad.

John, would 25 days be too far off?

Thanks. John.    I have had my original l78 on an engine stand for 33 years and was looking for a date correct flywheel for many years.  Do you know where I might find a correct  vacuum fitting for the manifold and did the 67 l78 use the 11/32 hose right to the fitting or was there a vacuum tube in between?  Thanks. Jeff

The vacuum fittings are very common, and all of the vendors have them; the fitting and hose arrangement for power brakes is shown in the J50 section of the Assembly Manual.
