Great post, Mike. I appreciate you going the extra mile with regard to tipping us off to books, videos, and websites that would be of interest to us. Thanks!

Greetings,

Follow the link to visit the General Motors Heritage Collection - a company archive slowly developing in relation to resources and services availed.  At the time this message was posted little SCCA Trans Am material was noted, but who is to say what might be accessed tomorrow or via persistent application with presumably informed staff?  Something to explore at your leisure...

Greetings,

Consider reviewing this Tony DeLorenzo-penned remembrance of the '70 OCF SCCA Trans Am effort as posted upon autoextremist.com.  Good stuff!

This is excellent reading of "behind the scenes".

I remember that when I purchased the first Dick Hoffman 70 camaro in early 80, it also had those
special GM front spindles  Dick was a GM engineer at the Milford proving grounds who also managed
to get a pair of them

Sadly, those spindles vanished while the car was in storage after the crash rebuild necessary after
the 80 T/A race at Laguna.  Friends of mine did the work on the car and they were not used
again for some reason.  After the engine blew during the F Atlantic support race at Westwood in 81,
the car was parked for some time with a bunch of parts and somehow the spindles vanished.

Greetings,

Hot Rod Magazine recently availed us a collection of about 125 images in color from the '69 and '70 Trans Am season off of their website.  The effort is multi-make if you will, some you'll have seen before, although a fair number will strike the reviewer as new.  Surely stuff to choose a new screensaver picture from if nothing else.  See:

Thanks...

Some interesting cars there, wonder where they are now. The rear engine Mustang looked like a bad idea. I feel dirty from watching it, think I will take a shower.

That was called the 'LID' Mustang. LID stands for Low Investment Driveline. And yes, it was ill handling. Apparently one did survive the crusher.

Greetings,

Follow to link to soak in a funny recital of the season that was for those behind the Owens/Corning Fiberglas 1970 Trans Am Camaro effort.  Perhaps I've only afforded a workable link to something that wasn't strictly accessible for what I'd posted further up this thread?  It will be for you to find out!  Second generation Camaro Trans Am stuff, although you'll be forgiven if you stray just this once.  See then:  http://www.autoextremist.com/fumes1/2018/8/20/the-glory-days-part-v-the-owenscorning-trans-am-adventure.html?fbclid=IwAR3eFJpLeGkd4uCSLRvmJoKLhObo3FD48cSZBbs_guNMpXt3QGXJNAyMHn0
