Let us know how they work out. A pic or two with them installed would be nice to see. Are you going to repaint them silver or something else?

Wow, so it has been 2.5 years since I found these headers. I finally mocked them up on the '68 and they fit really nicely, pics below:

Those do look like they fit very well.  Great score, Tony.

Got lucky this time!

Amazing how different these application specific headers look versus the universal 1980s vintage headers that were on the car.

Has anyone had any (positive) experiences with white ceramic coating? Looking for a recommended vendor. Thanks!

Jon Mello

Tony, I do not have any good recommendations for white ceramic coating. There was a place out of L.A. that did a set that I saw in person and they looked awesome but before the guy got them installed, the coating started coming off in places. He had to have them redone in a different color.

Thanks Jon, I may go with Swain Tech. Will let everyone know how I make out.

Jon Mello

Thanks.  It would be great to have that knowledge if they do a good job and the coating holds up.

Below are some Doug Thorley (Doug's Headers) pics from 1969. They appear to be using the Douglass style head flanges like Bill Thomas, Jere Stahl and Header by Ed used. Thorley headers used an ID number of D-118 or D-120 for small block 1st-gen Camaros.

Came across this seller with a $10,000 set of Kustom headers. Always looking to learn, but I've never seen a set of Kustoms with an inlet or outlet flange like these have. Any thoughts?

I have seen the head flange like that but not a square 4-bolt collector flange on a Kustom header. Makes me think they were changed.

Thanks Jon. I have to say the head flanges are pretty rough looking on these headers - looks like Kustom was doing whatever it had to do to get them out the door! Thanks for the feedback.

Here are some pages from the 1967 Doug's Headers catalog. Camaro big block headers are number D-119.
