Were the A/C bezels on a 67 Camaro ever chrome or were the all painted the dash color?
I have seen several   "correct"   67 with chrome bezels?

Yah, honestly, I've never noticed them in '67s.  Kind of "rare" since they are only in A/C cars.  So, I've never tried to remember them.  But since it doesn't stick out in my mind, I would say that all the '67s I have seen were chrome...

Is the car in the picture a survivor or a restoration?  I would only put weight on things found in an unrestored, unmolested, original car.  I hope someone can help you out.  I've only been "researching" my '68's options, etc...

I am 90% sure that 67 hade color coded vent bezels.  68 hade the chrome bezels.  I am
not sure about the 67 with the interior chrome package,  Maybe they were chrome.

68's were chrome but I'm not sure about 67's. The AIM (UPC60 Sheet A8) shows P/N 3885181 and 3885182 for the bezels, but it doesn's say what they are. Usually, when part numbers are given, it's the same finish for all cars. which leads me to believe they were chrome. If they were painted the color of the dash, there would have been a note to "see chart" for the different colors.

In JohnZ's research report on first gen assembly process, under Chevrolet Assembly - Paint Shop Operations Details / Low Bake Paint it mentions how small parts were received, painted, and moved to trim line etc.  I believe the bezels are all painted dash color, and suspect they were part of this process.  The part numbers shown in the AIM, without any special finish notes, may just be to differentiate left from right and not an indicator of a finished part from the supplier.

The vent bezels are dash color in 67 and chrome in 68.  Not sure if they were painted or not.  My car has a black dash and the bezels are non-painted black.

I'd expect that the '67 A/C outlet bezels were painted in the plant. The Assembly Manual only shows two part numbers (LH and RH), so they were probably received molded-in-color in black, and painted instrument panel color (except black). If they were received in color, the A.I.M. would show a "chart" part number, not a "bezel" part number.
