I blocked mine off and live in Oregon.  I haven't had any issues.  It does take a while to warm up when it's cold.

I used Fel-Pro. The gaskets I had have a little metal piece that goes in the hole to block it off.  Same gasket, you either used the metal block or not.

Fel-Pro also has a black "racing" gasket set that has no holes for the heat crossover.  Don't remember the pn, but it's one off from the blue set.

It's a lot easier to reverse if you just wire the heat riser valve open, and the choke will still work.

I use Fel-Pro #1256 - has stainless inserts with small round holes at the crossover passage instead of the full open ports.

Paragon Corvette reproduction parts has the correct gasket set for the 69Z. Same as Corvette with aluminum intake.   Clem
