who has first hand experience with these 1 3/4 headers on their car... apparantly some guys have horrible problems with them... i seem to recall using them several years back on another car... but my car now has the correct 302 engine mounts and the correct 302 frame standoffs...

anyone know just how these headers fit, especially with power steering?

thanks

Be prepared to massage the tube closest to the steering box. I marked mine with a sharpie and modified it with a spark plug socket and a hammer.  ;)  No biggie.

I went back to the stock manifolds and chambered exhaust after that and those fit just fine.  ;D

I have them on my '69 Z/28- no problems but I do have manual steering. They are 1.75" BTW but the car will fry the tires in 1st and well into second so they do not seem to be too big.

I have a 68Z with the Super comps and manual steering.  No issues except spark plugs.

I've been using Hooker's 2131 for 25 years now, and never had a problem. Never massaged a tube or anything.   Larry

Aaron, I run these same headers on my 69 z. they virtually drop right in, i didnt even have to lift the driver side mount to install them . mine are ceramic coated and have been in for four + years with 0 problems.
