I have found that my car sitting most of the time is very hard on the radiator. What do others do to prevent radiator deterioration in a car that isn't driven everyday?

I don't do anything special.  My Camaro sits from Nov thru April.  Then it's driven about 500 miles per summer.  I flush and fill it every 3 or 4 years.  Haven't had any problems at all.

Ditto to what Joe said...
First time I had it "power flushed" and ever since it has looked clean,

Same story here - my car still has the original radiator.

You all have 50/50 mix antifreeze to water in your cooling systems?

Another thought. Would the water part of the mix cause a problem? Have very hard water here. Could that cause problems?

Our tap water is also very hard.  I use distilled water and anitfreeze.

I do around 50/50 to 60/40, and I always use distilled water.

Use fresh coolant and distilled water.
