What PSI do you guys run in your E-70-15 Widetread tires. They call for 34 PSI maximum. I am running with 28 PSI and they seem to run very hard on the road. thanks for your hep.

We ran 32 psi in the original Goodyears in the '70s, Fire. I assume you have repros. Those things are going to ride hard at any psi compared to modern radials. The bias-plies just won't give and flex like a radial. But on the bright side, no radial has the handsome sidewall profile of a Wide Tread GT, nor the classic lettering and tread design. In their day, Goodyear Wide Tread GTs were THE tire to have! Wish I could lay my hands on a couple of L-60 14s now.....

The recommended pressures are on the tire pressure sticker (and in the owner's manual); they're significantly lower than what you're accustomed to running in radials. I'm out of town right now, or I'd check mine.

Here's what my original '68 Z/28 tire pressure sticker reads...

Tire          Cool          Hot
Front          26           32
Rear           28           34

I agree.  A lot of people do not realize this fact.  I am bringing this to the top.  The polyglas on my '69 Hurst/ Olds are supposed to be at 26 #'s.  That tire would look down if it was a 70 series radial!!!

you should check with the tire mfg

the repop tire is made of modern matarial which may require a different pressure
