Good day,

Just figured out the carb on my 11B LOS car isn't original, 1970s truck carb.

I'm looking for a suitable carb for this car; it's a K19 powerglide car.

Would a 7037202 K6 carb be in the date range for this build?

Thanks!

Tim,

I can't confirm the carb number. However, K6 may not work for every 11B, but I think it could work for yours.

IMO an October K6 date coded carb could be correct for your LOS 11B, depending on the engine assembly date stamped on the pad.

Scratch this above - I was thinking of the distributor, which was installed at the engine plant. K6 should be okay for your 11B.

For the life of me I don't know why I didn't include the motor stamping!!

VIII4MV so a Nov 11 stamp date on the motor.

For the most part the engine date is not the driver, as carbs, alternators, staters, etc., were installed on the Chevrolet assembly line. Parts were grabbed off the shelf in no particular order and regardless of dates. These type parts are generally dated within thirty days of the cars completion date.
