New member here trying to track down a lost z28. I've been searching on and off for several years but came upon the partial VIN match in the bumper jack thread linked below. Unfortunately no further information found. The car was originally sold at Midway Chevrolet in St. Paul MN and restored in approximately 2002. It should have a cowl plenum air cleaner and standard interior.

I see there is a 68 Z registry online but apparently unable to search for registered vehicles 😞

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Admin, if this belongs in a better section of the forum, please move it for me.

Thanks!!

Do you have any photos of the car?  I have nothing in my files for that vin.

Jerry M, Mecum, and Barret Jackson all report they have no record of the VIN in any of their databases.

Here are a few pictures of the car before it was restored. This is how the car looked shortly after it was new until it was restored around 2002. The black paint is the factory paint and the white stripes were taped off and sprayed gold. The car was sold in '84 with the stock wheels, no tunnel ram, and a flat hood. The cowl air cleaner was installed sometime between '84 and '00. It is likely still a low mile car as I believe it only had around 12,000 miles at the time it was restored. The car was ordered with the header option which were on the car as well.

I'm sure whoever owns it probably has a photo album that would show the car before and during its restoration. Certainly it's a paint job that's hard to forget.
