Last I heard it a little over 1k plus travel. If you check his schedule and wait for him to be in town you save or get several done and split the travel and expenses . Maybe this guy paid for travel and expenses just for one car. You also need a place with lift for him to do it. His place is in VA or Maryland so east coasters can just take the car to him.

Did anyone watch the entire video? I tried, but had to speed up and FF parts because it's a lot of rambling.

The jist of his complaint with the inspector seems to be that he did not spend anytime verifying the partial VIN stamp in the rough cast area after discovering the DZ was a restamp. Used car salesman is saying it could be the original block that was only restamped because of decking during rebuild. And he wants you to know the owner restamped the DZ second time to try and correct the incorrect D in the stamping to make it more square. Here is the result:

Jerry MacNeish is the expert in 1st generation Camaro's and for the cost of the inspection and years of experience even if off the bat he finds the block to be a re-stamp he is NOT going to stop there he is going to check all the other locations for the Vin# in this case by the oil filter.
I'm going to speculate that the previous owner spent a ton of money to try and make the car period correct. On 12-23-2020 he pays $1700 for the complete Smog System for one then decides to put the cherry on the top and on 6-2-2021 has JM over to do the report and find that it just might not have its born with engine. Only the detailed report will tell us that.
The owner decides to sell it and as discussed here many times only the certificate is shown to the perspective buyer (ie. this car dealer) He pays a lot of money for it and after the fact he finds in the pile of paperwork the complete report from Jerry.
Why else is would this guy be so upset with Jerry!
I agree with all the other items that have been pointed out above this is a $40K car, but sure love the Burgundy paint!

If JM,s report confirms it is a real Z28 I think 40 is a little short. It is hard to find a 1st gen where the rust is gone or never existed that drives for  little less than 40 much less a Z. I see two numbers in the vin area also.

If everything else on the car was down-right 100% date coded correct - every nut & bolt- tires, then I would totally agree that $40k is short.  Personally, I would have been embarrassed to have Jerry look at this car in the first place.  Obviously the owner or whoever they are didn't know what they were doing.  I've known Jerry for a long time, and he is the most honorable person in this Camaro hobby.  I wish the guy would take a pic of the full report and show the car for what it is.  It may be a real Z, but w/o the factory installed - born with DZ engine, its just another Camaro to me.

BTW, why are we yakking about this car so much!!!!  LOL!

That would be great, but I think it would be unfair to the person that paid for the initial report. That person probably owns the rights to the report. I suppose those rights are transferred when the vehicle is sold.

Any of us as perspective lookers or buyer should/could reach out to the seller and ask for a copy of the report. And as a seller the information should be provided? Wither it is ethical or legal to make it available for this discussion??

I believe a perspective buyer can pay MacNeish for a copy of the full reports iirc.

It's been 7 years now but when I was researching 1st gen Camaros to buy I ran across a '67 SS396 that was advertised as having a report from Jerry.  I contacted him and he provided me with a full report on the car.  I don't remember the price or fee he charged.
