I was looking closer at this 69Z and the putty on the rivets for the trim tag looked suspect to me. I was curious to get others opinions:https://www.mecum.com/lots/LN1122-524293/

I think the Factory Rivet sealer usually Lacks a "Finger Print"! That is Not consistent with Factory samples Right Guys.\

I beleive that tag has been off the car and is one of the newer repop tags.

Would love to see the drive train stampings on this one.

Not one picture of the stamps that matter and a very flowery description that shows the seller has no idea what a stroker is.

Other than the putty in the rivets that looks like a real tag to me. Are the new repops getting that good ?

Yes they are.  I believe that is; as Jonesy mentioned, a newer repo imho.

If that's a fake plate, then we're in a heap a trouble.  Have to get behind the rivets inside the cowl and take a good look.

Pretty soon going to have to include photos like this:

Car is listed for sale on Hemmings and seller claims it has original engine & transmission without any photos:

I'd like to see pics of the tag from a few years ago if any are available. I don't see a problem with this tag. Yes they are reproducing much better tags now....

meaning it was like that as it left the factory, or you have seen other guys fudge it like that on original tags during some kind of restoration ?

I don't know but I find it interesting they both are 12C. Would be nice to see other 12C tags.

If I was trying to fake I wouldn't leave finger print marks on the putty. Just sayin.

I'll defer to you guys but to my ignorant eye it doesn't compare to original tags I have.  Maybe I'd have a different opinion if I saw it in person.?.
