Original Radiators

I have just heard from a guy, that usually does pretty good on Camaro topics, that he has seen 'very original' cars that had a plastic petcock valve in the radiator.  He said he had heard that they came that way and dealers always 'broke' at the first service and put metal/brass ones in.
Anybody else ever hear this?

No first generation Camaro came with a plastic radiator petcock from the factory.
