I tried to research this but couldnt fiqure out the date. The date seems to be missing a numer it only has 9 12 HI would that be of 69 or 68

Just guessing but if it was 12 month of 69 it would be a 70. The really small 70 trunks would most likely be a spacesaver spare.

HI code is for 1968 1969 Camaros so it would not be a 70. My car is 11D 68 and it was in the trunk so if its 9 of 68 probably the original spare

The "HI" space saver wheel was also used on 1969-1972 Firebirds, so there's no way to know what year you have. If it's the same date format as the KH wheels, the 9 would represent the month and the 12 is the day of the month, so September 12th. But that's just a guess because I don't believe KH made the space saver wheels. As for the year, it's anywhere between 1968 and 1972. However, I see something VERY lightly stamped to the left of the 9. Can you make anything out?
