Great, because I was wondering, my camaro comes with the 4 speed and consul guages but no rev counter ???

If it has conole guages it wold have had a tach (rev counter) and a clock in the center pod. Most likely it was not a factory guage package car if there is no Tach.
there are punched holes in the firewall... in certain locations if the car in deed had factory instrumentation... find or buy a 69 Assembly manual and look in the front for hole locations and diameters.

1968RSZ28

Southerner -

The console mounted gauge package (RPO U17) was an option.  It was not mandatory with the Z/28 package.  In 1969 you could order a tachometer without the console mounted gauge package.  However, when you ordered the console mounted gauge package you got a tachometer.  So in your case, someone added the console mounted gauges and/or removed the tach from the dash.   ???  Adding the console mounted gauges is most likely what occured.

What did you use to fill the big hole with on the right side when you removed the tach?
