Hello All,
i haven't been on this site for a while but i have a freind looking to buy a 1969 Z-28. What do you all think about the trim tag and Pad stamping ?

Tags good.  Stamps appear ok.

Block stamp looks real but faint compared to others; maybe block was lightly decked in a rebuild.

M22 trans is very desirable.
Learning more and more about less and less...

69Z28-RS

the block has definitely been decked as you can see the circular machine cuts.   I suspect the stamp is original even though the decked has thinned the depth of the stamping, and obscured the broach marks.   Owner should have covered the deck and told them NOT to cut that portion...

kind of what I thought but it's been a while since i looked at any numbers real close.

The trans vin and engine vin were not done with the same stamps...
The engine stamp characters have the same traits and characteristics of many 1969 VIN stamps...
I can't make the call on the trans... just saying they are not from the same gang stamp.

Look at the  2 and the 6... neither character are the same.

It was done that way in production and is not a cause for concern. There are other examples.
