I will tell you that you can add material where EVER you want using 3m auto mix flexible repair - rough it up using a RASP clean with ACETONE and then apply where needed, it will not break off or crack if you prepare the surface properly.  I think I used 2 complete automix sets for the reproduction bumper below...

You can see the rasp marks in the bumper and the 1/2" of additional material I added to the "wings".
