Looking for information on 1968 Yenko 427 Camaro's, particularly COPO's

I have some info on the 68 Yenkos. Are you looking for info on the MV code engine?

It is believed that Yenko special ordered COPO 9737 SS396 375hp Camaros in 1968 for conversion to the 427 Super Camaros. They had a MV code engine. A few years ago there was some debate on whether 1968 Yenko Camaros had the 427 factory installed or were 396 from factory.
  There were magazine articles claiming documented MV code 427 factory installed 1968 Yenko Camaros and Jim M also stated he remembered them to be 427 factory installed.
A long story, but two 1968 COPO 9737 SS396 375hp Camaros have been found with documentation of MV code 396 engines and are believed to be unconverted 68 Yenko Camaros so most people (I think) today believe they were 396 MV code.

Agree - thats what my protecto plate on my 9737 copo says  ....MV code.

Thanks guys. This is the type of thing I need to know, were they 427's FROM THE FACTORY, or were they ALL converted. I need more to nail this down by Tonawanda records show that we built 375hp 396's to this COPO. I have no reason to believe they were not 396's. There were reasons to have a MV suffix code, and the Protecto plate was one big reason. Thanks again for helping me here.

my understanding they are 396/375 hp cars built in GM and delivered that way.....yenko did the conversion at the dealership.  Those special order copo cars had the MV stamped block...

All evidence (blocks and docs) points to all the 68 9737's being a 396, no evidence of a factory 427.
Early and late cars still have the MV block.
