I believe in 67 an MP engine application code suffix was used for 302s with A.I.R. for California market.  Since he has an MO suffix he should be good to go.

Did anyone notice there is no lift hooks on the engine .All the research I did no engines had any hooks. How did they lift the engine ???

The picture of the 68 engine above you can see the lift point back by the distributor. All engines I've ever seen had lift hooks, Left front & right rear...Joe

Thanks everyone . I kinda thought they had someway of lifting the engine in 67. I am just going to use the 2 center bolts to remove it from the stand onto a dolly and wrap it up.

FYI alt fan should be black if it is the correct one for the engine and dipstick should be natural finish.  Engine looks nice btw.

Emo1956

I wasn't sure about the fan because I have seem them both ways. That is the original alt but it was full of rust. How did they stop them from rusting if it was a natural finish ?

Thank you Shane for the kind words. The original plan was to try and find a body but I have given up on that idea. I could have sold this motor many times over the years but I always wanted to finish it as it came from the factory  to the best of my ability. Its been a long hard road to finish.  I am going to sell the motor so someone can enjoy it. I have a 68 SS 396/375 that I bought in 1975 that I am going to restore plus I have other projects I am doing for other people.

I have not seen any 67s with clear zinc or dichromate fan.  Only 68 and up.  They didn't do anything to the stick.  Also I would be interested in getting all the info you have on your L78 as I keep a database of 68 L78s.

I've never been an art collector, but if I had the dough I'd collect this motor because it looks like that to me. It'd be a nice piece for my garage LOL. But hopefully someone would enjoy seeing it drop into their Camaro when you sell it. If it was a 1968 350/295 I'd be all over it. Best.....
