Would anybody know the part number for the GM accessory tow hitch for a 67 Camaro?

Even though there were publicity photos of the Camaro towing boats (see attached), trailers, etc... Chevrolet didn't recommend using the Camaro for towing so there wasn't an "official" part number, factory or dealer installed. Of course, that didn't mean the dealer couldn't have one installed using aftermarket kits (usually even kept in stock) if a potential buyer pressed hard enough, and I've seen several over the years.

In 1968 Chevrolet put out a piece called "The Hitchables" there is a whole Camaro section interestingly enough. They list all the power teams and ratings, but not a part number anyplace for any model. After going over to the "Big Book" of Accessories, still no part number for Camaro. They feature it, rate it and have it in their promotions...but won't sell it.

Looks just like the hitch I had on this old '68 back in the late 70's... I towed many things (probably unwisely) with that car...

Still have the one my dad bought for the green car back in the 70's.  I've been thinking about bolting it back on.

My 68 had one at one point. Similar set up. It was long gone when I got the car, but after speaking with the first owner and viewing what was left, no doubt it hauled more than a$$... :)

The one that Ebay is the one that I was interested in, however only if it was a factory approved by GM part number.

I've had hitches on all my Camaros except for my 69. There will probably be threads just like this for those cars...

As I stated above, you're not going to find a Chevrolet issued tow hitch for the 67-69 Camaro. And GM wasn't in the business of testing and approving aftermarket parts so the Valley Tow-Rite hitch on ebay is about the closest you're going to get. It's not GM, but it IS "period correct".

Thanks Ed,
I thought that GM had one shown in there 67 parts accessories booklet that also showed dealer installed add on accessories.  I must have been mistaken and I didn't have a booklet to check.
