Both heads have the same date.

3917219 is the correct casting number for '68 Z28 cylinder heads, but with casting dates of K 1 7 (November 1, 1967), I don't believe those are the original heads.

Well that's bad news. It thanks for the info.  Wish I had thought to ask before spending the kids inheritance. Lol

Chris, nobody will know unless they pull the valve covers. If the heads are good, use them! :)

Your right nobody would know but me, they are good, but with all the other parts starting to add up as far as the car possibly being a legit Z by part number and casting dates seeming to be right this head information is somewhat of a set back.  But it is what it is 😓

you probably could sell them and at least break even, guys are always on the look out for this stuff.

Out of curiosity what would be the correct date for Chris to look for ? (may/june?)

Verify that part is 5.8" long.  I think that is the long PS Pittman arm.

My car is manual steering and I took this off my car? It has an M stamped on it for manual.  It meaured roughly 5-3/4 inches from center of hole to center of threaded shaft?  I know its what come off the car, just can't figure out if it's correct for a 68Z with manual gear.

Highly reccommend ordering a copy of the 68 Camaro assembly manual. Somewhere in the forum should be a pic of my pitman arm. 04D Z, manual box. Part number shown.

Also, Mr. Pozzi is a very nice guy. Drop him an email, he will answer your steering question.

Might be a service part, but that's a 69 part.
68 Z should be 3908391 with manual box.
