Learning more and more about less and less...

I think that's like making chicken salad out of chicken shtt. He didn't lie, he just didn't tell the truth.

Dealers often don't know. Jack of all trades, master of none.

Old marketing adage: If you can't fix it, feature it. Car looks to be a decent build, a fun street machine for cruise night. That's how I would advertise it. Needs a 12 bolt though.

Looks like they put a disclaimer in the ad:

On Mar-01-17 at 04:29:24 PST, seller added the following information:

This 1969 Camaro is a nice clean car it is our understanding that this car started its life as a V6 car. The conversion to a V8 and other options were very well done. Please call with any questions.

..??..  Is that even possible??  for a used car dealer?  :)

J/K..  It IS good that they updated their ad when they received correct information; it might even HELP them sell the car!

Today's car culture...every 6 is a V6.   :D

Kudos to them for calling out the non-V8 origin of the car!

I might have helped some?

ME : Just friendly FYI,... This car has a 6 cylinder VIN. CANNOT be an original V8 car. Be careful of lawsuits. I would do the right thing and change the description.

Seller : I know it has a 6 cylinder VIN. I never said it was a real SS

Me: I know, BUT ya never said it wasn't either. Be honest and post it as originally a 6 cylinder car that has been converted. You KNOW the info, do the right thing and share it. I will be watching the auction. If and when it sells, I will run the plate and contact the new owner. I will inform him this info.

Seller : We changed the add to make sure people know it started as a V6 car.

Me: Good on you!

Not accusing anyone of dishonesty. As I said dealers/sellers may not know a car has a problem. Last December a widow had a friend list her late husbands' '67 Chevelle SS convert for sale on the SYC site. Someone noted it had hardtop tags. She didn't know, he wasn't aware either.

Never buy a collector car without a prior inspection by someone knowledgeable.
