Harry Mann 68 L78

I just thought I would introduce myself on this website (at the suggestion of Darrell Cook). I have a 68 L78 Camaro that was purchased at Harry Mann Chevrolet. While I would perhaps post this in the originality or unrestored section, this is a Day 2 car by definition. Moderator's, feel free to move this wherever you see fit.

I have been rather active on the Yenko.net website. Here is the thread I have going on the car......

This car is not completely unknown. Some of you are rather familiar with the car. I am in the process of documenting (if I can) a gap in the history of the car.

I (and my Wife) will be at the MCACN show in the Day 2 Invitational. Feel free to say hello!

If you take the time to read through the thread, you will again see I am on the hunt for information revolving around the 2nd owner who may have drag raced the car around 1971 before he was killed in a car accident. If you have a suggestion as to where to look, ask, dig, investigate..........................whatever................................please chime in or PM me.

I see where you are looking for original 1968 speed parts

the  Hurst shifter that you would get in 1967 or 1968 is hard to find.
Hurst changed the 67-68 Camaro shifter 3 times (that I know of)

The 1st shifter was made from welded parts vs the new design's stamped steel neck
It also used a different  chrome stick

The second design used the stamped neck with the early 4106 chrome stick with large Hurst letters

The 3rd design used the same stamped neck with the  4106 chrome stick with smaller Hurst letters

That is what is suspected. While the whole racing thing is left to folk lore, the car does appear to have had ladder bars, slicks, and some hard launches. This thing is not quite a virgin
