Darrell,

Did the drums show any signs of the rear two letter prefix code sticker on the outside?
The paint looks great. My 67's LOS paint is so dry that the micro-cracking is very obvious and some areas it's coming off.

No stickers were present.  Dad actually had painted them white not long after getting the car.  So who knows if they were there then or not..  Yeah once it starts cracks its down hill from there..  Just keep letting the paint soak in Mequiars #7 polish which is about the best thing for it.

Darrell we'd love to see your car attend MCACN. It is a real stunner. You've done an excellent job documenting and preserving the car. ;)

Steve, thank you for the kind words and the invite..  Unfortunately, this dumb ole redneck would get lost up there in the city and besides its probably better that I stay down in the minors as Im not ready to mix it up with the heavy hitters of the majors.

Hey Darrell, what did that run you to have the cylinders rebuilt?

I didnt have them rebuilt..  I put the originals up and just got some over the counter replacements for the time being.

BULLITT65

Oh I thought you had sent them out. Just curious who you through for the replacements. It seems wether I go through O'Reilly, AutoZone, or Napa, it is all foreign made crap.

I got them at OReilly's.  I didnt want to wait and I wanted to drive the car.  I will send them off to someone at some point..  Im not in a rush.  Cars not going anywhere.  ;)

I am so glad you got this car and have documented it through the sites. 68 L78's are scarce and unmolested unrestored ones are practically non existent.

After about 6 months of hibernation I decided to get ole green out to stretch its legs.  Yeah I know another boring idling video.

If THAT is boring, why am I so mesmerized, entertained, jubilant , and just plain excited to experience "Dad's" old car ?
