Jon ill send you a pm. This car has Yenko paperwork and it was stolen when new so NICB has a file on it telling the story.

    Never saw a PM from you but would definitely enjoy hearing more about the car.

The car in an early Yenko advertisement (the Span advertisement) matches this car to a T except the car in the ad had sidepipes. Same 427 emblem placement, car in ad has hubcaps and std SS hood like the car pictured, any idea if they are one in the same?  White RS/SS with bumblebee, SS hood.

Differant the car in the Span ad was built at Yenko YS 604.

This car is Butternut Yellow 427, 4 speed, 4:10's and drum brakes. When recovered it was missing the engine trans, wheels and exhaust. This car did not have any Yenko emblems or decals. List price on the Yenko window sticker was $4995.

The Yenko crest emblem was not installed on any '67 Camaros when new, if I understand correctly. It was not designed and put on any cars until the '68 models came out, correct?

this is a Yenko SS396 to SS427 Camaro conversion so it is not the butternut yellow Yenko Camaro used in the early ad
it has the black tail panel and the vin is later then the early Yenko Camaros

The early Yenko Camaros were converted SS350 cars

this car has the stock hood with hood pins which is how most of the 67 Yenko Camaros were equipped

I love that look in that time frame.

In the mid 70's a friend of my Dad's (at that time) had a 427 factory Camaro. COPO-Yenko, could not tell you. By that time already had the psychedelic paint scheme : purple lace on white. I forgot about the car until I found some pics of it next to the Z. Ran into the owner some time ago. Had long since gotten rid of it. Bad a$$ car ! I remember the noise. It was reported a high 10 car. Really something for a  car driven on the streets in the 70's.  If you search YouTube (vintage Dragway 42) you'll find some shots of it. Also "Big Red" A 67 Chevelle ordered minus 396. 427 added at the dealer (another story for another site). Rode in that car a few times as a kid....him and the "old man"  street raced each other a lot. Hence my love of the high winding small block.

Can some one tell me why the the black Yenko from Central has four emblems on the fender?  It just looks out of place.

Was the 2 other emblems the cross flags (cant remember what the black car looked like)?  This car started out as a small block by the looks of the fenders or am I missing something?

the black Yenko from Central had the Yenko crest emblems added to it later in it life
They used the black and chrome Yenko crest not the 1968 style crest
There are a number of 1967 Yenko Camaros that had a Yenko crest emblem added during the restoration but no yenko crests are shown in the original pictures

When Yenko did the conversions, they removed the 350 V emblem or the 396 V emblem and added the 427 numbers on the fender. I believe they used 1967 Corvette hood 427 emblem. All the original pics I have show this but there may have been exceptions

When Dick Harrell did the conversions, they swaped out the 396 V emblem for the 427 Impala V emblem

Yenko converted the cars in PA  and Harrell did the cars in St Louis

Yes , as far as I know all the 1967 Yenko Harrell Camaros started as SS396 cars
only a small number of early cars were Yenko built SS350 to to 427 conversions
