For some reason I was thinking it went out west..  Glad it stayed at least somewhat close.  You can also see Ron and Diane's X44 Z in the back ground.  lol

Thanks, I was straining to read the plate frames. I live in Northeast Ohio and have not seen or heard of this dealer. I'm always on the lookout for dealer stuff, esp from Ohio.

There was no dealer emblem on the car.  Just the license plate frames.  He also bought a new 66 SS Chevelle from a dealer in Painesville.  My parents lived in Mentor until 1971-72.  Eventually calling Lebanon, TN home in 1974-75.  If you run across a Glasscock frame I would definitely be interested in it.

How cool is this..  Its a shame its no longer around.

Bet the dealer in Painsville was Earl Evans....They ran a 69 Copo Camaro raced by Dale Evans. It was raced under the name Steppenwolf. I have a slew of pics I can post if interested...

That sounds right.

WOW small world..  When you said Steppenwolf I called my mother and confirmed with her.  My father bought the 427 out of the Steppenwolf car.  She said it was Mr Evans son.  I said was it Dale Evans and she said; you know I believe that is right..  He put that 427 in the green 68 and it wouldnt run as strong as the L78 so he pulled it out and sold it and put the L78 back in.

This is too cool..

Let me see what I can scan when I get home from work.....Stay tuned.

There was a great little Italian restaurant in Painesville...  in an old white frame house across from the closed train station.. :)
The last time I was in Willoughby, they had a weekly Cruise in at the local McDonalds...   mostly mid-sixties chevys with hydraulics..  :)

Go on Draglist.com   Look up Evans, His/car's accomplishments will be listed. Ran out of Thompson (cool old track, still very active, like a time capsule)It would be cool to track the Stephenwolf Camaro down. Old drag cars don't die around here, they just change owners. Probably running a Saturday point's program.

Back in the day (before my time) your Dad would have run Thompson and 42(Salem)......Sunday,SUNdaay !!  42 turned into a dump. New owner bulldozed the property and began construction of a new state of the art facility. Hoping next spring to be making passes. Tons of events around here Cook, next summer you need to pack up the girlfriend and one of those Camaro's and head North. The Z may or may not be on the road, we plan on hitting a few Gasser meets with the Anglia. Great time if you never been to one.

I might just do that.  I want to go to the Soild Lifter Show next year if I can plan around it.  Would like to take the Rallye Green L78 to though.  Just need to upgrade the towing rig.  ::)  My mighty ZR2 S10 (with 200K plus) had all it could handle with the trailer and pulling the Z as a roller a few months back.  :o
