I am restoring a 1967 convertible which is coded as Y-2 and 707 yellow interior on the cowl tag.  This is the standard butternut yellow with black convertible top.  I have discovered that some 1967 Camaros came through coded Y-1 which would be a white top. I have only seen one or two photos of butternut yellow cars with white tops but they were not good quality photos.

Also, I believe that the D91 color was the same as the top color?  Is this accurate?  So if the car had a white top and D91 stripe then it would have a white stripe?

Thanks.  If anyone has any pictures or any cowl tag photos showing Y-1 and 707 interior, I would love to see them.

Thanks

Butternut would get a black bumble bee stripe, regardless of top color:

It's my understanding that in 67 you could not special order the stripe a different color.

I've never seen butternut with a white convertible top either. Please post the pic you do have even if it is poor quality. I suspect it gives a washed out look....

Yeah... I wouldn't think that combo would look very good.

There's about 30 Y-1 cars in the database.
Interesting....

It does sort of grow on you, doesn't it...

I saw the car in the link which is what triggered my original question.  I am not sure however that the car in that link is actually butternut, it is too hard to tell.

Here some pictures of three cars that I have on my system.

Isn't that an aftermarket white top judging from the 2-piece rear window I see?
The color combo looks good, but like a black car, the dirt must show up quickly.

Paul, that is  a super nice pic in a "real world"(meaning: car has a few flaws, but still shows well) setting. Just Beautiful!

My 67 rag top under restoration is butternut yellow. I love that color and the nice contrast with the black bumblebee stripe  ;)
And the DBC paint was only $360/gallon so that made it a plus being a solid color.

I'm starting to wonder if all Y-1 cars were rally sports.  Haha.
