Are the stamped ones designation plugs STEEL or forged vs the other's which appear to be cast.

James, I can not say for sure, but the W fill plug appears to be cast.  The others appear to be forged.

I know this an old thread, but could someone put together an easy to decipher Excel chart? It would be much appreciated.

Myself, David K and Hans L have been going down the Lisle plug wormhole.. read the thread by ypu and others but looking for confirmation on what is actually factory correct 1969 M22 fill and drain plug. Kind of thinking that the underlined W is good for the fill and the #2 magnetic Lisle with 2 magnetic inserts are correct for the drain. P and Lisle stamp plugs are 1970+

As far as I know the Lisle 2 Magnetic plugs are correct for 1968 and 1969 M22s. They did not use a W plug. They used a pair of the LISLE 2 MAGNETIC Plugs.

The P plugs might have been used in some 1969 extended model year plugs, but for sure for some 1970 M22s. The plugs with LISLE were used on all 1971 and up Muncies, with some P plugs possible. 1970 was probably a mix of P and LISLE.

I tried to see if the company was interested in reproducing the plugs but they said the tooling cost wasn't feasible.  I talked with the owner in his office for about an hour on the different plugs they used to make. I gave him some of mine for his personal collection.

Well I will say that I have NEVER seen a W plug on a 68 or 69 M22. NEVER.

Do as you wish.
