when you say manual with a brake, I assume you are talking about a manual valve body, & transmission brake? sounds like fun. So if you get the 56 that will shut your dad up for a bit and you'll get redemption I hope... 8)

Yea, with a gate style shifter(Cheetah) only way to fly. He doesn't say too much negative anymore, looks speak volumes. He's only 68 so we got a few builds left. He knows my love of 55-56's and stokes my desire for one on a regular basis. He doesn't have much interest in what I'm doing with the Z now ,but is around if I got questions or need a hand.

Very cool projects guys. I have a dart 383 ready for a body. Ohio stuff is too rusty. Thought about putting it in my z but it needs to go in something else. Since I got the GTX I can baby the z and abuse the hemi! It likes abuse, in real how it pulls.
Couple years ago a guy had a Florida 56 for sale he got from a storage unit sale. Great body no motor. And no title. Kinda scared me off.
Janobyte where are you located?

Florida may not have been a 'title state' in 1956...  Alabama didn't become a title state until 1975 model years.  Prior to that, either a bill of sale, or a tag receipt is considered 'proof of ownership', and if sold into a title state, a title in that state can be obtained.

For whomever was complaining about 'rusty' fifties cars in their area, there are some other possibilities right now.  I haven't seen this particular company's bodies, but it sounds good...  ie.   a 55 150 sedan, maybe with Nomad wheel wells out back?  :)

I think the car was in a storage unit where the owner died. No one claimed the stuff and it golf sold. Had an average paint job but great body. It had wheels, no engine transmission or interior. It did have Florida plates in the trunk but no idea how it got to Ohio. Probably shouldhave bought it and then figured it out.

The black Z-28 at the Mecum auction was a "real" x33 car, but had been stripped of about everything else that made it a Z.  It would have been an ambitious project for someone.
