How long ,and many 302's, were produced after the 69 model year?    There had to be warranty replacements.     They were used in the Chevy  Firenza rally cars, Formula 5000, and Can Am race cars into the 70's.

No way to know.

302 engines were only produced at the Flint MI plant along with 5,000 others every day. Chevrolet had warranty obligations 5 years from the date a car was placed in service so they may have maintained a small stock of fitted and shortblock assemblies through 1975. This was long before crate engines became popular but some dealerships like Berger and Nickey did advertise and stock them. Warranty and service replacement assemblies were not coded DZ. Once those were exhausted that was it. I'm sure Flint's production records are long gone. Race engines were typically assembled from components, not factory-built assemblies.
