68 side markers

Hi, just wondering why the newer one has a [removable] bright strip around it and threaded posts in the rear holes as against my old one in the foreground?
The new one has the same mould number? with 'Made in USA' impresses into it, perhaps to suit Nova Chevelle Corvette etc?

...I believe you are correct with regard to them being used on Nova, Chevelle...

 Looks like a '68 Chevelle light to me
