69 pressure plate bolts

I just purchased new pressure plates bolts kit for my DZ and they came with no lockwashers.  Did the bolts orginally use lock washers?

The ones I have used thin star washers.

The ARP Chevy pressure plate bolts come with hardened/ground flat washers.
