Can someone give me a few tips about the install of the above gasket? Is there more to it than removing the three screws that hold the cover on? I am a bit inimidated by the center adjusting screw.

Thanks,

The adjusting bolt is threaded to the cap. You will need to  "un screw" the cover by turning the adjuster. Go easy and do not beat on it with a hammer, you may need to loosed the cap with a very this putty knife if the old gasket is stuck.
Re adjust box when done.

Good luck Mike

How do you re adjust the box? Would this procedure be loacted in the Chasis Service manual?

Yes, see Section 9 in the '69 Chassis Service Manual.
