cartpet with RPO D55

hi all !
i have au question , i have to install a new carpet for my 67 convertible with console.
i' m looking for this information: do the carpet goes under or above the shifter boot retainer ?
install the boot  then the carpet and last the retainer witch maintein boot and carpet or
install the boot  then the retainer and last the carpet witch will not be maintein ??

no easy to see in the litterature, because the console .

The rubber seal and steel retainer go on top of the carpet - see the Assembly Manual, section M20, sheet A1.

thanks for your answer....but this section does not make difference with or without console, so i was not sure.
