SPL Alternator mounting washer

Does anyone have a pic or know what's so special about the 2 washers that go on either side of the sleeve on the lower alternator mounting bracket for V8???  Referencing 68 AIM, page 79, view A, #11 - 3825452  Same for SB or BB.

I left them out and now trying to locate but I have no idea what I'm even looking for!!!

Just in case anybody else is looking for these I found a description in AMK's catalog, pg 81.  Can't see anything "SPECIAL" about them!   Here's the details:
