Looking at a 68 camaro with what is suppose to be the correct POP plate. Problem is the serial # of the car is not punched through the paper lip on the booklet. Were they all punched out or is this normal. Thanks

Some of the early cars did not have the punched vin in the book. This occurred when they were switching from the 1st edition to the 2nd edition.  Generally, you see this from the beginning of the model year into early October.

that would make sense as the car I am looking at is a 02B car

Does the cars protectoplate have the full info stamped on the plate or just the vin and the owners info?
If the original book was lost, a replacement was usually issued and in most cases, did not have the punched vin.

Hmmm... an 02B car should have the vin punched in the book. unless it was a replacement.
Any way to get a picture of the plate?

I will try to hold the guy off on the sale for a bit. My son is home from university next weekend. I will see if he can take and post a picture for me with the POP plate. If anyone else has a booklet without the numbers punched throgh it let me know please. thanks
