Front springs

I just got my 69 back on 4 wheels.  New stock suspension all around.  I used the correct springs from Ricks for a car without AC and a SB in the front,  with the motor and trans in the car again but no nose yet.  The control arms are still sitting with the rebound rubbers & pressed against the frame snuggly not squashed.  Will these springs relaxe?  How much space should I have between the bumper and the frame...  Is the nose that heavy that it's missing the rest of the weight to compress them?

You won't know until the full finished weight of the car is on its wheels.

That's what I was figuring on.  I guess once the nose is on and it starts to be driven again the springs will settle.  John, did you run into this before?

Pretty common.

Wont know for sure until all the weight is on/in the car and after a few miles worth of suspension movement to settle everything where it's going to be.

After 3 weeks on all 4's it does seem to be relaxing a bit and that's with just sitting.  It's not drivable yet.  I think it will be fine by the time I get to take it for a ride
