When was the changeover from the AP decal to the AG decal on the 68 Z28s? I am speaking of the tire pressure decal on the glove box door. I have seen some with AP and some with AGinside the bowtie.

My 02C Van Nuys built 1968 Z/28 has "AY" inside the chevy bowtie insignia on the tire pressure decal.  The part number on the decal is 3934882.  What's the code and part number on your tire pressure decal?

My deacl is in very weathered state and all I can really see is Part#3934882 or the second to last # could be 3.It is in tough shape. As far as the letters I can see an A  but cannot make out the letter next to it. I see Jerrys white car has an AG on the decal, that is why I was wondering which Letters mine should be in cause I ever am able to locate one. I know they used AG and AY which yours is. Looks like Ricks only has the AG coded ones.

Okay guys what should I do. My tire decal still shows the correct GM part# on the bottom but I can only make out the A inside of what is left of the bowtie. Should I leave it alone being it is original but rough or should I try and locate a new one and replace the old. I am leaning towards keeping the old tattered one but would appreciate opinons. Thanks

I would leave it. I would rather have the old original one than a repop one.

I thought keeping it would be the best to do. At least the part# is readable

I was at a local car show today for some local guys and seen 2 -1968 z28s. A 3rd week of december car had the AG decal and a 2ndweek January car had the AY decal .Must have been a late yearchangeover. Both cars are local and have been all there life. Both decals were old and tattered but readable/

I feel my old decal is part of the documentation of the car being a Z.
