123379N609241

N609241 was final assembled on or about March 5, 1969. Car has a body tag with non-original rivets dated 10D, third week October 1968.

One or both tags are not original to the car.

Hi William,

From the information that's at hand you are right, also the vin 123379N609241 is for a 6 cylinder car, and trim 12437NOR140861 is V8 car

No, in 1968-69, the third digit on the trim tag was fixed at "4" for all models (L6 and V8) and had no meaning. More info HERE.

Thank you for that information Ed, I had it all wrong. The  vin  though decodes a 6 I assume that is correct.

Yes, that's correct. 12337 (coupe) and 12367 (convertible) denotes 6 cylinder cars.

I give the builder credit for not using a #10 wood screw. Adds to the authenticity, doesn't it ?
