1969 Fuel Door Bolts..

Does anyone have a pic and/or detail of the correct bolts that retain the fuel door on a 1969 please.

UPC 14-B2 shows GM 9419002. This corresponds to AMK's B-10130 (now discontinued) which is just a plain 1/4-20 x 5/8, 7/16AF hex bolt.
Firstly, I would have expected a hex-flange or a hex-washer, but the main reason I think this bolt wrong, is because the female threads in my body are 5/16-18.

Could it be that mine were once stripped and oversized and that the 1/4 bolt is correct, or did AMK get it wrong?

My untouched originals are 3/8" hex indented and flanged head, black phosphate.

Neither sounds correct as 1/4 & 5/16 bolts are 7/16" & 1/2" AF, and a 3/8" thread is too large.

Can I assume the same 5/16" bolts as those that would be used to secure the fuel/brake line clips? They are an indented hex flange.

I have seen them both ways on 69 Camaros, Novas, and Chevelle. My AIM shows a revision to bolt 9419002, and states "was #9425439". Can not read the R-date in my book.
I have seen the bolt John posted on a Nov 68 built Nova.

It just occured to me that I have a repro tail panel.
In typical "that's close enough" reproduction style, they have fitted incorrect 5/16-18 threads. Actually, I'm suprized they're not metric. (Don't laugh, the repro fools have done that.)
I should have expected this lack of detail by the amount of filling I had to do to get the trunk lock to fit as well as to get the tail lamp retaining studs to lock in properly. -Not to mention what my panel guy had to do to fit in the first place..

Anyway, thanks guys. It will be a 5/16-18 for me.

I am currently restoring a 02B Los Z28 and my own Z28 is a 06A Norwood Z28, both have 1/4unc bolts, 7/16" wrench size, both have RBW head markings. The 06A is 100% original for sure, I have owned it since 73, 42,000 mile survivor.

OOPS, Just looked and they are RSC. Sorry for any Confusion.

The RSC style are the ones I remember. I don't recall seeing the indented style like John Z's but they certainly appear like they are orignals.

I have a 69 RS Z that was original paint and not been disassembled prior to me painting it and my Fasteners are the same as John's. My car is a 3d build car from Norwood.

It is good this old info is still searchable (by google).  Was working on my spare fuel door for selling and wanted to include the correct bolts.  But the 14-20 hex heads I set aside just did not match my memory.  I remember the flanged bolts.  So with some searching, found this thread and seems like the flanged bolt was on early cars and the hex head was on later cars.

So I searched my bolt piles and found a set of "A" flanged bolts for my (Oct 68)10A 69 and a set of RSC hex heads for my June 69 SS.  I do also have another set of RSC bolts to go with the sell one   All good now.
