Under a shelter in place order, so plenty to time to get an early start on springtime projects.  Decided to replace my 68' standard door panels & clean/lube window & door gears/mechanisms.  50 plus years of gunk.  Any suggestions for the best grease/gunk removal product?   Any recommendations on the best lubricants to use?

I've used ZEP Purple cleaner to soak and remove the gunk, then used Mobile 1 synthetic grease to re-lube.
I've seen Gunk engine cleaner used successfully too to clean the parts. This is with all the components out of the door of course.

I use a "grease stick" . A stiff waxy substance that resembles beeswax

The grease stick works great on tracks, mobile 1 injected with a rubber tip in the transmissions (gearbox)
