Actually after looking at the vin stamping it is a brighter shade of orange as it appears on that one spot that got repainted? Maybe just my mind scaring me away from this car.

Vin stamping area way to smooth.  The one block I have you have a magnifying glass to read the vin. I would pass on it.

I know you can buy new cowl tags including the correct pop rivets.  Did you clean the area that looks brighter orange?  If you like the car and the car is something you can afford then buy it and enjoy it.  Maybe its not totally original but something that you will enjoy driving and going to cruise night and car shows. Test drive it and look it over close.  How are the floor and trunk pans, how is the wiring, does it steer good or does it wonder.  Plan on spending more than the purchase price to make it your car. If you want to verify all the casting numbers foer all of the parts they are available on this website.
